Praying for sunshine!

Update on Baby Ally:
She continues to improve...Thanks to our prayers, God is giving her strength every day!

Please continue to pray for her and her Mama~ Sarah~...She is having a hard time with the c-section.

Also, I just returned from the doctor's office. He wanted to discuss my lab results from last week.

It is nothing too serious, but needs some attention.

I am having a lot of trouble with my balance, as well as fatigue and weakness in my arms and legs...

The problem is a vitamin D deficiency as well as low iron.

The scale for vitamin D ranges from 30- 55...Mine is 13!

So I am taking a suppliment to bring that number up...It would sure be nice if the sun would shine a bit more here in Michigan...That is the best way to get vitamin D.

Well, the SON is always shining, and I am thankful that our medical care is very good where we live...And I am glad that no matter what the outcome of those results...I was feeling secure in knowing Jesus is our helper, our protector and our friend....

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?

Psalm 27:1..

I carry this scripture in my pocket, and in my heart.

Thank you for praying!

~Blessings and love~

Continuing to pray for Ally and will be covering you in prayer as well.

Is it possible for you to get a sun lamp? They are a bit pricy but they do deliver the much needed sun in a healthier way.

Take care of yourself hon.

Yes, praise the Lord little Ally is getting stronger!
Doctor says it will take about three weeks before I feel better...I am just so relieved that it was something easily fixable...I can't wait until I have some energy again...and stop falling over so much, LOL!
I love you too, my sweet sister!

Good to hear baby Ally is showing some improvement...I pray that she and mommy will get to go home soon. I had a vitamin D problem years ago...I also live in Michigan. I was told just ten minutes a day in the sun would help, but not to wear sunglasses because the vitamin D comes into our system through our eyes. I hope you start getting your strength back quickly. Enjoy your is cold down here in Ann Arbor...Brrrr

Hi Sweetie,

Ally is still not out of the woods...They dialed down her resperator to about half what it was, and she remains sedated...But God is in control, and she has brought hearts closer to God...Children will do that when people are moved to pray for them.

I used to have a sun lamp a few years ago...I may get another one after this...I have been so drained of energy and then tipping over for no good reason for a few months now...But what got my attention was losing all strength in my arms and legs from doing something as simple as emptying the bag of dogfood into a bin...I am just so looking forward to getting back to normal again, and I am praising Jesus for steadying my nerves, and leading me to see my doctor.
(I do not go often at all)
I also need to eat appetite is not very good...never has been!
~Blessings and love~

Hi Susie,

Yes, it is good news! Still praying for her to be removed from the resperator so she can go home soon.

The sun is shining 9pm...It has been raining for three days straight, and there is a frost advisory for tonight...need to cover my flowers, or else the pictures I posted will be all there is left of them!

~God bless~

Hi Dee,

Brrr is right! I had to dig out my winter clothing today! Wow, I did not know that about absorbing vitamin D through our eyes...That is the problem, I always cover my eyes whenever I sit out in the sun!
Doc says it will take about three weeks...I have always had a low iron problem, but this was different this time...I also need to eat more, my appetite is not very good.
Enjoy your weekend too, Dear...stay warm!
thankfully they lifted our burn ban just in time for the campers to come up...everyone loves a good bonfire...only this weekend it will be for warmth, and not just for smores. LOL :)

Oh, I hope the sun will shine for you every day so you can sit in the sun for 20 minutes. Soon. Then you can make vitamin D :-) It is an underrated vitamin. Take care of yourself.

Still praying for mother and daughter.

Lovely to hear that Ally is improving Lisa, and we ask the Lord to continue to heal her little body. I pray that your vitamin D level will rise too. Amen to the scripture you carry around in your pocket, the best medicine you could have. 'Do not worry, do not fear, let your heart be still. For who on earth of mortal man can always know God's will. But this we know, who worship Him, 'by faith shall live the just'. For then we see the power of the One in whom we trust'. God bless you with a speedy recovery.

great scripture to hold onto. When He's in our corner....nothing can happen that He won't allow and if He allows it...something good always comes out of it.

As for vitamin youngest hates milk so I give her orange juice that's calcium and D fortified.

Stay strong.....and praying for sunshine for you..

The sun is out today...the mosquitos are also!

Hi Sarah,

I love how you put that...So very true!

I have GERD (acid reflux)...I can't tolerate OJ, but I love milk...just haven't been drinking enough of it I guess.

Thank you for your prayer, my friend...The sunshine is staying around for now..Praise God!

Hi Lisa again, just came over for another visit.
Yes it is my own poem, I have made bookmarks with it on. It came straight into my mind as I was commenting so I included it in. God bless. Lisa, as I was about to post this comment the word verification was 'very realesa' It reminded me of 'very real Lisa' and I believe that is what God's promise of healing being 'yes'in Jesus is for you at this moment.

How's now with Ally and Lisa?

Delisa said...

Hi Lisa, I was thinking about you this morning as I was going through my blog and rereading some of the sweet comments you left for me in months past, and I realized it has been quite a while since I stopped by to say hello! I am sorry to hear about your vitamin D deficiency. I had the same thing happen last year, I was 9. They started me on the D3 supplements and when they tested 6 months later it was back up in the normal range. I was surprised that it went back up so fast. I still take them every day and try to make sure I get a little sunshine. You have such a beautiful blog and encouraging spirit. I hope that you have a lovely day! Delisa :)

I have not heard whether Ally is home with her Mama yet...I need to email my friend and find out.
I am still weak, but it will take a little while...Had a nice visit with the grandkids this weekend, they wore me out, but we had fun!

Hi Delisa,
So good to hear from you!

I never thought about Vitamin D until this...I guess it is a lesson in taking better care of myself. I imagine I will be taking suppliments (both D and Iron)regularily now too.

Thank you so much for your kind words, my friend!

Good news about Ally. Prayers continue. I had 2 C-sections, and they are major surgery. The recovery is tough. So I know a bit about how Sarah's feeling. But, God has them both in His hands - I pray for healing.

I'm glad that your lab results showed something *treatable* - I have recently upped my vitamin D intake. And, every other day I take a vitamin with iron in it. That seems to have helped with my fatigue, too. However, I ought to have some lab work done - I'm overdue for that. Thanks for the push to do that...
