A Tail To Tell

The calm before the storm
Buddy's clean-up effort after
And now for the rest of the...
Now, before anyone says; "Awe, what a good dog to help clean up the yard!"
Here is the rest of the 'tail'...
This morning was trash pick up for our neighborhood, so I had to run the trash out to the front...And when I say "run", I mean RUN...Buddy actually picked up that huge branch, and chased me both to and from the road with it!
Here you can (barely) see the trash container by the road
The crazy mutt even thought he was going to bring that branch into the
house. It's bigger than the front room (foyer)!
Still praying for all the folks who have lost loved ones, and who are beginning the process of cleaning up after the hurricane...The damage was pretty severe....If you get a chance, check out the picture in the post just before this one... It shows rescuers saving a child and even a family dog after the storm.

Joshua 1:9

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Sandy leaves 33 dead in US, up to 8.1 million without power

Superstorm Sandy left millions in the Northeast without power or mass transit this morning. President Obama has declared a major disaster area in New York and Long Island
And closer to home: Although nothing compared to the devestation on the Eastern Seaboard...The Great Lakes became pretty active in response to Hurricane Sandy yesterday. My daughter lives in the Fort Gratiot area mentioned below, and she told me that the wind about pulled her legs out from under while she was walking outside.
South Haven embraces coming storm

It may be centered over Pennsylvania, but the wet, icy power of Hurricane Sandy has created havoc in Michigan, resulting in high winds, power outages, canceled flights and tremendous waves on the Great Lakes.
The storm has killed at least 16 people in seven states, cut power to more than 7.4 million homes and businesses from the Carolinas to Ohio and caused scares at two nuclear power plants.
In Michigan, wind gusts of 60 to 70 mph were recorded along the Lake Huron shoreline in the Port Huron area, according to the National Weather Service in White Lake Township.
"Fort Gratiot, which is located about three miles north of Port Huron, recorded a gust of 74 mph," meteorologist Steve Considine said Tuesday morning. "Winds are dropping a bit now, but we can still expect gusts of 50 to 60 mph from the tip of the Thumb to the Port Huron/Sarnia area."

Millions of people are bracing for Hurricane Sandy, a mega- storm coming into the US via the east coast, sometime tomorrow evening.

This storm is predicted to be huge, and very damaging.

~Father God, we pray that no lives will be lost, keep your people who call out to you safe through this storm.~ In Jesus' name~ Amen!

Deuteronomy 31:6

Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”

Psalm 91:1-16

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, ...

Nahum 1:7

The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; he knows those who take refuge in him.

A New Day

It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23)
Did you screw up yesterday?
Did you somehow fall short of what the Lord wanted you to do already today?

This is what happens. Each one of us can expect to sometimes fall short of the standard that Christ sets for us. If we make a mistake, we may need to repent of it. It is important that we learn to recognize whether or not it was an intentional act of sin, or perhaps a consequence of carelessness. Maybe we acted/ or failed to act, out of  fear, and mistrust, which by their very nature, are also sins against God, since He requires us to have faith in His ability and power to help us live according to His will...

But, once we have repented, The Lord does not want us to stay there and dwell on our failure!
Today is a new day. Don't let past failures discourage you from trying and
(trusting) again.

And those who know your name put their trust in you,
for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.
Psalm 9:10

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.

Psalm 32:8

Squeezing in one more post today!

We're enjoy temps in the 70's today, but the forecast says to expect them to fall back into the 50's tomorrow, with more rain and, I had to run back outside and take more pics!

HMMM…What’s this?…
I jus’ don’t get it, when I bring branches up from the woods, she yells!  But when she does it, it’s called…. “DECORATION”?
~Abundant Blessings~

It is good!

And God saw that it was good. (Genesis)

After nearly three days of constant rain and some pretty big wind storms, I did not expect to find anything left on the trees in the yard…Imagine my surprise when I walked out into this glorious day!

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.  Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.  In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. (John 1)

Genesis 3:8,9

Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man,Where are you?”

The above verse seems to paint a picture of what God's relationship with man must have been like before the fall. God walked in the garden. If Adam and Eve heard him, and hid, then that would indicate that if they had not sinned against God, instead of hiding, they very likely would have joined him. God obviously cared that they were missing from his fellowship, otherwise why woud he have asked them: "Where are you?" (of course he already knew where they were, and what they had done!..He knew this would happen before He created them.)

Right away, we see how sin separated Man from the presence of his Creator. The relationship was to suddenly become a long distance one at best. It may be easy for us to imagine how Adam and Eve felt about losing their intimacy with the Lord, but have you ever imagined how God felt?

First, let's take a look at why God created man in the first place...

Ephesians 1:3-6

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.

Lets take a closer look at this scripture for a moment...

He has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing IN CHRIST. For he chose us IN HIM before the creation of the world to be HOLY and BLAMELESS in his sight.

From the very beginning God created us (our spirits) to be blessed IN CHRIST, to be seen as holy and blameless IN CHRIST, and to become (adopted) sons THROUGH CHRIST!

in accordance with his pleasure and will~to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us IN THE ONE HE LOVES. (CHRIST)

So God, before he ever created one thing here on earth, predestined us to be spiritually blessed with every spiritual gift, to be holy and blameless, and to be his adopted sons ~IN CHRIST~ Remember, Adam's body had not even been formed yet, and Jesus had never been born, nor died on the cross, nor rose from that death yet.( though as part of the Godhead, He was always with God)..The earth was still void and without form; yet God had already chosen, and blessed, sanctified, and adopted us as sons through the One whom He loves. His only begotten Son~ JESUS.

So, God creates a body for man, breaths life into that body, making man a living soul. At this point, the spirit joins the body.

The man and woman walk in fellowship with God in the garden. God enjoys this..after all, he made them for His pleasure. But, God knows he is not at all finished with man yet. He knows they are only a shadow of what they are to become.

He knows that there must be a time of darkness, a time of separation and trial that they must endure alone. Of course, He knows that there will be men and women who will seek Him and cry out to Him, who will love Him enough that they will try very hard to please Him through keeping His laws, ( the old covenant) and keeping His commandments. He will hear their cries and help them. He will find ways in which to communicate with them again, but it will not be the same as least not for a very long time. Someday, He knows, His fellowship with man will be even better than it is will be perfect and complete. Complete through HIS SON!

And the Lord God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” 23 So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken. 24 After he drove the man out, he placed on the east side of the Garden of Eden cherubim and a flaming sword flashing back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life.

 (Genesis 3:22-24)

At this point, God knows that many of the living souls will be lost. Many will continue to follow the devil, many will forget their Creator, they will die because of sin. The trials of life will prove to be too much for most to bear, and they will curse their God, and invent new gods. They will give praise and glory to their own gods...the praise and glory that belongs to their Creator only! His heart breaks, but it is not the first time; After all, He had to cast Lucifer and one third of His angels from heaven before this. Now Adam and Eve are cast from the garden, from His fellowship. He knows it will not be the last time His heart gets broken either...

Fast forward....(new relationship)

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Before long, the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. On that day you will realize that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.

(John 14:16-20)

"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."
(John 14:26)

"When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you"
(John 16:13-15)

This is Jesus, After His resurrection, speaking to His followers about the gift they are about to recieve, given in His name. The promise of the Holy Spirit. This gift will allow them to once again fellowship with God...through Him.

"You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the Spirit, if the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit, who lives in you." (Romans 8:5-11)

"For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children"
(Romans 8:13-16)

"In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will"
(Romans 8:26-27)

"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."
(1 John 5:7 )

Sometime in the future....

And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly man.

I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.  Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed—  in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. ( 1cor.15:50-52)

( 1 Thes. 4:13 -18)

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.  For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.  According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.  For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.  After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever.  Therefore encourage one another with these words.

Now... there is a picture of perfect fellowship between man and God...This is what God made us for!

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.

 (Revelation 3:20)

The Color Of My World

You will show me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore

  (Psalm 16:11)

Blue skies once again…

CIMG1215055 - Copy (2)

I walked down into the forest and leaned against a crooked pine

I turned my face toward the heavens, and felt the warmth of sunshine

I closed my eyes and felt the shadow, of a cloud covering the light

The warmth had turned to coolness, like the day into night

When I opened my eyes to bright sunshine once again…

I wondered…

Should I stay and hope for blue skies, or seek shelter for fear of rain?

What's your color palette? Does it ever change? ...Mine does!
Are your skies clear today?

Look up!

Luke 21:28

When these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.
Happy belated Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends~
I am still sick with this fall cold, so have not been able to get out to take some new autumn pics. But I am taking this time to stay in where it is warm and reflect on the many blessings we have from the Lord.
Many times, we seem to only focus on the negative things in our lives and in this world. Yes, it can get discouraging as we see so many things happening around us, like people using violence against one another more and more, natural disasters, and economic collapse, deceit of politicians, etc...
But, we, as Christians, can only warn the lost of their need for Jesus, and then pray for hearts of stone to change as people seek redemption and repent of their sins.
That is our first, and biggest blessing...The fact that God gives us a way
(The only way, truth, and life~ Jesus!) A new way, a new truth, and a brand new life...instead of walking in our own ways, or the way of the world, instead of believing the lies that are constantly being ingrained into our minds since childhood, we can now comprehend the Truth of God with the help of the Holy Spirit that He has placed within each believer! We are given a new mind...the mind of Christ...( AWESOME!)
Instead of walking the old path of our sin, (or walking in our own righteousness, which deceives us into thinking we are good enough); we have been given the righteousness of Christ Himself...which is the only way we can do anything truly good for the kingdom of God.
Instead of death (spiritual death), we are given life...eternal life!
Instead of the punishment of an eternity in hell...
We are promised to share in His Glory in Heaven...forever!
I am grateful for a loving husband and children, comfortable home, adequate food, and water, and clothing, and a country that (at least for now) allows me the freedom to pursue and write about my faith.
I am thankful for friends, for my dogs, for the people who do the jobs that serve our daily needs...especially those in the military, and medical, and emergency professionals.
I am thankful for modern technology as I am old fashioned, but I do like modern conveniences!
The above image is from my yard last year...This time of year we find ourselves often looking up to see the grandeur of the colors in the trees...This reminds me to look up when we are feeling down...get your focus off the rut in the ground, and look forward to the promise of our Lord coming to deliver us!

My little granddaughters, Aubrey and (Alyssa, in the background)
There are so many wonderful blessings here in the world, but we must be careful to not love the world so much, that we forget that the one who gave us all good things, is the same one who will someday remove this old world, and replace it with a new heaven and a new earth...That will be our real, forever home...The things here on earth are temporary, and we are warned to not love them, because our treasures are to be in Heaven, not here on earth.
Heavenly Father,
I am thankful for the blessings you have given, but help me to not treasure the things that I have while here in this temporary place. Help me to, instead, value those things that are eternal...The love of God, and of people, forgiveness, redemption, fellowship with you and my brothers and sisters in the family of God, your glory and power to overcome evil with good, anticipation of Jesus return, and the promise of a new heaven and new earth!
In Thy precious name, Jesus~ Amen~

My autumn post is a little bit buggy!

photo credit: twinxamot via photopin cc
Normally, this time of year I am writing about my favorite season, autumn. That's what I had planned to write about today....but...
The sky was a pure, clear blue, and the leaves were casting brilliant shades of yellows, golds, and russet reds as far as the eye could see, and the air was crisp...
Normally, all of the things that I love about this season...except...
The colors were too brilliant against that persian blue sky..they hurt my eyes, I had a sharp headache when I tried to look at them.
When I stepped outside into the beautiful fall day I felt a chill that seemed to settle deep into my bones...
After doing my housework, I planned to take some pictures before the last of the trees shed their leaves.
(we've had an early and unusually short peak this year)
Instead, I fell asleep in my recliner with a huge blanket and awoke an hour later to two whining dogs...
Sasha: doing her high-pitched, intake-of-air, type of whimper; and Buddy: with his he poked me with his muzzle...Sasha laid her head solemnly in my lap. Emma was asleep in her little bed in front of the heater, oblivious to all....The phone rang; Jeff calling to let me know it was time to pick him up from work. (I had some banking and bill paying to do today, so I had kept the car, forgetting that it was 'Columbus Day' here in the US...All the banks were closed, and the mail did not run)
As I sat up and pushed aside the blanket, I realized I was sick.
I picked Jeff up from work, and came home to start dinner. Jeff said to not worry about it, just go to bed and rest...I thought about it for a minute, but realized I may want to eat something while I can, because I fear I may have the bug that has been going around.
So I cooked, cleaned up, and we ate.
So glad that I had bought some frozen boca veggie burgers, and baked a pumkin pie yesterday. I added a salad composed of garden tomatoes and cucumbers, topped with ranch dressing and shredded cheddar.
And now I am going to bed, as I need to get up early to take Jeff to work tomorrow so that I can run those errands! I do hate the thought of spreading this bug around further, but things need to get done.
Jeff is working 12 hour shifts lately, so he can not get to the bank before closing, or else he would take care of it for me.

(Psalm 31:7) I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy; for You have looked on my affliction; You have known my soul in troubles;

(2Ch 20:9) If evil comes on us, whether the sword, judgment, or plague, or famine, and we stand before this house and in Your presence (for Your name is in this house) and cry to You in our affliction, then You will hear and help.

I really hate bugs, especially those microscopic ones!

Yes, I do mind!

Good night, friends.

Cleaning House Again

This post is by no means intended to cause anybody undo worry. I came across the following website, and after much deliberation, decided I had better take the warning very seriously.
I have spent the entire evening removing all images from my blogs that are not my own property, or that I am not 100 % sure are free to use.
I have been sued before, by someone whom I would have never, in a million years, expected to sue me. They did not have a case against me, but this taught me a valuable lesson about assuming such a thing could never happen to me.
So, I have cleaned out all of my posts. My blog might not be as pretty as it once was, but at least I have a clean conscience in knowing that I am not in violation of any laws (that I am aware of).

I do urge you to read through the above link, and then carefully examine your posts all the way back to the beginning, as I found that, especially when I had first started blogging, I just followed everyone else's example, thinking it alright to copy any 'Google' image.
It is not.
And now that I know this, I will be very careful not to do so ever again.
(Hey, I never said I was the brightest bulb on the tree!) :0
But I am bright enough to learn from mistakes (mine or someone else's).
One more nugget of advice: Do not trust that just because a website allows you to copy an image (for free), that it is okay, unless you make sure that the image is theirs to give away in the first place! Chances are, that just like me, they didn't know any better, and thought any google image was up for grabs.
Well, I guess I covered this as best as I can.
Consider this a sincere apology if I have posted anything that was yours! I assure you it was never intentional.
Ah, well,...still livin' and learnin'!
By the way, I am an unpaid spokesperson who does not work for anyone...AKA: not an attorney.

Breath Of Life

Breath of Life
by Lisa Stager

I lay my body down upon the warm, soft sand and feel my bones defining and forming it beneath me. I listen to the waves crashing in upon the shore, and feel the sun’s warmth upon my face as the wind sweeps over the sea and land. Bending low, a blade of grass gently caresses my face like a lover’s touch, while the wind whispers its secrets into my ear.

As I lay upon my bed of sand, there beneath the steadily sinking sun, I sense the breath of God gliding over the surface of the water, I breathe in deeply, filling my lungs with life. I am no longer just a solitary being, but a part of the sand, the waves, the wind and the sun. And I know that this is where I belong, this is where I began.

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

(Genesis 2:7)

Choosing Life!

I thought it was time to dust off the old blog! I gave 'Facebook' a good try there for awhile, but I'm afraid I jus...
