Happy New Year..The Ark awaits!

And He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. 23“They will say to you, ‘Look there! Look here!’ Do not go away, and do not run after them. 24“For just like the lightning, when it flashes out of one part of the sky, shines to the other part of the sky, so will the Son of Man be in His day. 25“But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. 26“And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28“It was the same as happened in the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building; 29but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30“It will be just the same on the day that the Son of Man is revealed. (Luke 17:22-30)

God shut the door.

So those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him; and the Lord shut him in. (Gen.7:16)

Jesus said I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved (John 10:9).

During this New Year's celebration and beyond, people will be doing what people do, they will be getting together with family and friends, eating and drinking and having a good time. There may be a marriage proposal or two, babies will be born, people will die.
People all over this world will be counting down the last few seconds of the year 2011. Most of us will anticipate a future full of hope and promise as we welcome in 2012.  My hope for the new year is that we will see all of God's promises fulfilled in our lives as we journey into a new we declare Come Lord Jesus...My hope is that all my loved ones will find themselves placed safely in the arms of Jesus, or grasped tightly in his strong hand if they find themselves in over their heads.  I hope for smooth sailing, but I know that storms will come. I know that Jesus will either calm those storms or calm His children as He comforts us within the midst of the storm. He will never leave us alone to battle it out if we stay within the safety of His ark.

It is not too late. There is still time. The storm is coming, it is on the horizon right now. Do not wait until the storm is in full swing, when it will be very difficult to enter into the Kingdom of God. There is a chance that you will not make it through the coming storm. All will be lost, your soul will be lost forever, without Jesus~without hope.

There is a day coming, and it will come upon you very suddenly, when you will look up and see the Son of God coming from Heaven with his saints.

And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (Matthew 24:30)

The dead in Christ and the *raptured saints*  will be with Jesus when He returns to earth... And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven...Those who are gathered at this time will be called the great tribulation saints, the ones who overcame the tyranny of the Beast during a time of unprecedented terror and horror upon the earth; a time of unspeakable evil and violence like this world has never seen before. These tribulation saints are those who refused to take the mark of the beast, and as a result they lost loved ones, homes, jobs and all of their property, and many if not all of their possessions. They were hunted down like fugitives, hidden from sight from those who would torture and kill them, they would be declared as enemies of the government, dangerous right-wing fundamentalist Christians, and regarded as a dangerous terrorist threat because they refused to obey the new world order government and deny their new faith in the Lord Jesus and convert to a new one world religion. They refuse to live in opposition to the Word of God written in the Holy Bible.

There will also be other angels who will gather together all those who did not regard the God who created them, who did not care about the Son of God or His sacrifice for them. These were scoffers who ridiculed the Lord who paid for their ugly sins with His blood shed for them on the cross. These are they who upon hearing the Word of God telling them that He loved them so much  that He gave His own Son Jesus (The Christ) to first teach and show them how they must live, and then finally to suffer and die in their place, to pay with His own blood the penalty for the sin of all mankind. They laughed or completely ignored and rejected the free gift of salvation; thinking it ridiculous or un-scientific, illogical, or just not necessary as they believed they were good enough on their own, by their own good works to earn their place in Heaven. There will be many who will deny their faith in Jesus so they can recieve the mark of the beast in order to recieve provision for their lives here on earth. ..That life will only be for another 3.5 to 7 years, depending upon when during the great tribulation the mark was established to replace all modes of currency, shorter if they succumb to any one of the judgements that will be poured out upon the The Book of Revelation for descriptions of these)...
So in essence, these people will be trading in their eternal life with their Creator in a New Heaven and New Earth, for a few miserable years upon this fractured and dying earth which will be thrown into a lake of fire that will burn and torment forever. Even Satan, the beast that you depended on for everything can not save you now, as he will suffer the same judgement....

10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20)

The New Ark Awaits

The first ark was built out of wood by man following explicit instructions from God. The New Ark is built upon a foundation of solid rock;

1 Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, 2 as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, 3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.  (1 Peter 2)

The Chosen Stone and His Chosen People
4 Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, 5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture,

“ Behold, I lay in Zion
A chief cornerstone, elect, precious,
And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.”[b]

7 Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient,[c]

“ The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone,”[d]
8 and

“ A stone of stumbling
And a rock of offense.”[e]

They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.

Built to withstand the fires of Hell itself, this ark is given to man from God the Father in the form of Jesus His only begotten Son. This ark does not  only ask that you enter into it, He asks to enter into you, to give you a new and eternal life, to change you into a new creation, a new being...

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

You will be called Sons and Daughters of God, grafted into the Royal family of God to live forever in a new Heaven and Earth.

9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. (1Peter 2:9)
5Having predestined us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
6To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
7In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; (Ephesians 1)

When you enter into your eternal home you will receive a new body. There will be no more sorrow and weeping, no more sickness and pain...

The Resurrection Body  (1 Corinthians 15:35-44)

35 But someone may ask, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?”
36 How foolish! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. 37 When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else. 38 But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body. 39 All flesh is not the same: Men have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another and fish another. 40 There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another. 41 The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor.

42So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body

A New Heaven and Earth  (Revelation 21)
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

The Door is opened wide..Please come in.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever BELIEVETH in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." -John 3:16

God made the plan of salvation so simple that a child can understand it. We are expected to present this salvation to others as God gave it to us, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved" (acts 16:31).
"But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the SIMPLICITY that is in Christ." (2 Cor 11:3)
But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. (1Peter 4)
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. (Luke 21:8)

*For more information about the pre-tribulation rapture of the Church please study:

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)

In Luke 12:36, the Word states that when Christ returns, He will be returning from a wedding. In Revelation 19:7-8, we read about the marriage itself. The marriage supper takes place before the marriage. According to Jewish custom, the marriage contract, which often includes a dowry, is drawn up first. The contract parallels the act of faith we use when we trust Jesus to be our Savior. The dowry is His life, which was used to purchase us. When it's time for the wedding, the groom goes to the bride's house unannounced. She comes out to meet him, and then he takes her to his father's house. This precisely correlates with the events according to the pre-trib scenario. Jesus, the Groom, comes down from heaven and calls up the Church, His Bride. After meeting in the air, He and His Bride return to His Father's house, heaven. The marriage supper itself will take place there, while down here on earth the final events of the tribulation will be playing out. After the marriage supper of Jewish tradition, the bride and groom are presented to the world as man and wife. This corresponds to the time when Jesus returns to earth accompanied by an army "clothed in fine linen, white and clean" (Rev 19:14).

I Am The Bread Of Life

John 6:32Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven; but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven.
33For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
34Then said they unto him, Lord, evermore give us this bread.
35And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
36But I said unto you, That ye also have seen me, and believe not.
37All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
38For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
39And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
40And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

Thank you Father for giving us Jesus!

Help us to never take for granted this gift you have given us.
Help us to live our lives according to your will for us.

May we always remember to celebrate the gift of eternal life through Jesus CHRIST our Lord  today and every day!

Merry CHRISTmas everyone~ And may the Lord richly bless you and your family this New Year!

Stiff Necked

I awoke this morning with a stiff neck. I am not surprised, I anticipated this. My husband and I have been working on our bathroom and we replaced all the drywall. I worked well into the night putting a coat of primer on the ceiling and walls. Today I will try to at least get the area done where the washer/dryer goes so that I can get the laundry done.

I have arthtitis in my spine, and have been having trouble with my neck for a few years now, this is going to take a toll I am sure. I hope I don't end up in therapy, but that is the requirement of the insurance company if I seek medical help for my arthritis. Oh well, whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger or something like that right?

I can't believe how late I slept in this morning. I was exhausted after last night. I feel like climbing back into bed now. I am ignoring the headache that is beginning to take a grip. I have been hearing a lot about that Higgs particle, otherwise known as the "God particle". I understand the science, but I fear the creator of us all will intercept if & when this particle is harnessed , I don't believe it can be. I can't help but think of what happened with the Tower Of Babel.

Genesis 11 - The Tower of BabelGenesis 11:1 Now the whole earth had one language and few
words. 2 And as men migrated from the east, they found a plain in the land of
Shinar and settled there. 3 And they said to one another, "Come, let us make
bricks, and burn them thoroughly." And they had brick for stone, and bitumen for
mortar. 4 Then they said, "Come, let us build ourselves a city, and a tower with
its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be
scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth." 5 And the LORD came down to
see the city and the tower, which the sons of men had built. 6 And the LORD
said, "Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language; and this is
only the beginning of what they will do; and nothing that they propose to do
will now be impossible for them. 7 Come, let us go down, and there confuse their
language, that they may not understand one another's speech." 8 So the LORD
scattered them abroad from there over the face of all the earth, and they left
off building the city. 9 Therefore its name was called Ba'bel, because there the
LORD confused the language of all the earth; and from there the LORD scattered
them abroad over the face of all the earth.

Perhaps this will be our Tower of Babel?

I can not help but be fascinated by science, I love physics and wish I had spent more time learning. I love my creator more though, so I have spent much time learning of Him instead. I look forward to the next Big Bang that is a shout from Jesus calling me home!

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. 1 Thess. 4:15-18
Perhaps this is a good time to heed this warniing from Moses again:

27For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the LORD; and how much more after my death? 28Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them. 29For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands. (Deut. 31)

That kind of stiff neck will get one in great trouble with the Lord!

Well, I wish I had all day to just sit here and write stuff, but I must finish my coffe, check email, put on my 'painting clothes', and get to work..I am waiting for my arthritis medicine to kick in so that I can move. I have taken care of the dogs, and made the bed, I wish I could just climb back into it!

I'm Thankful For You

We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other,
2Thessalonians 1:3

But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth,  2Thessalonians 2:13

I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus 1Corinthians 1:4

That my soul may sing praise to You and not be silent.
O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever.

Psalm 30:12

Variety surely is the spice of life...There are so many different blogs that I really enjoy reading. I follow some, others I only visit occasionally; some I have book marked, but not necessarily signed on with. Larger ones I tend to avoid joining but will sometimes leave a comment. Smaller blogs that I enjoy I will usually join as I know how reassuring it is to encourage new bloggers as I was so encouraged when I first began.

I have learned much about blogging. I have made a few mistakes along the way too.  Because I admire so many different bloggers I have sometimes tried to emulate their style of writing. (mistake) Some are gifted as knowledgeable and credible prophecy teachers, and end time teachers. These people are usually rather firm in their writing styles and have a superior understanding about the subject of  the end times. They are the ones who hold firmly to the solid truths of the Bible and are committed to proclaim and defend with boldness the Bible warnings contained in Holy Scripture. I am fascinated by the few whom I find credible, and spend many an hour reading their (usually) daily posts. Although I can understand much of what they are saying, I have a hard time retaining factual information about world wide, usually political, geological, or scientific information that ties the scriptural references to the actual occurrences that are happening all over the world at a very rapid rate lately. Therefore, I am not a Bible prophecy teacher or blogger, and rarely will I even broach the subject on my blog.

Then there are the blogs that I sometimes hesitantly visit, I go to them much as a person might go to the doctor’s or chiropractor’s office when they know they need some medicine or an adjustment in order to get back on track; you know the ones, they tell it like it is, and are not afraid to make a stand for what’s right, even at the risk of offending someone, anyone. I tried that once, and although I felt it was important to do so, I did not enjoy it one bit and hope the Lord never asks me to do it again.

Then there are the blogs that I seem to gravitate to when I am having a bout with melancholy and just need a good laugh, I wish I could always write in that style, make people laugh a lot; we all seem to need that these days..these last days.

Although I am never quite comfortable sharing personal struggles with serious issues like abuse or neglect and rejection, I have a  certain empathy with others who are using their blogs as a way to reach out for comfort and understanding amidst their pain, these are special to me.  I write many personal thoughts in private journals in which I hope someday my loved ones will read to better understand why I am the way I am; until then however, I do have regular heart to heart talks with them.

Then there are the Bible scholars, these are the people who are or are not ordained or otherwise formally educated in seminary or other (Christian education). I have never spent more than a few hours in a secular college and have very few accreditations to my name, and those being completely too unimpressive to even mention. I used to be intimidated by well educated people, but as I grow older that has diminished thank the Lord.
As for those who, like me have no formal education concerning the Bible, I believe we are all on equal ground as far as we have the same teacher(Holy Spirit),and access to the same textbook (the Bible); therefore,  formal education or not, a Christian is only limited by their own desire to learn the scriptures. Of course I do take into consideration that the Lord blesses each with their own measure of faith and abilities or gifts

Some bloggers are talented photographers and have the most exquisite pictures on their blogs and some share their artwork or promote their handcrafts or other products. Although I am usually never in the market to peruse through blog-land to buy anything, I sure do enjoy the many different personalities behind the many blogs. Some I feel I can call ‘friend’ (that is a lot coming from me, as I tend to hold most  people at arms length for a long time or forever even). I guess perhaps Jesus is teaching me to hold people within my embrace instead, I don’t know, but I seem to be more tender- hearted since venturing into the blogasphere zone. What wonderful, fascinating times we are living in!

I don’t know why I am writing on this subject, perhaps it is my way of saying “Thank you” to all of you who take the time to share your lives, your knowledge, and faith, your talents with me. I sure do enjoy you all. You inspire and entertain me and I just want to say a heart felt “God Bless You!”

Against Our Nature

Last week a young hawk  flew into the side of our house. My husband saw it happen, and Buddy ran to where the poor thing landed and stood over it's limp body looking at my husband as if to say "Why'd he do that dad?"

My dog and my husband have this one thing in common, they both have heart's full of compassion for all creatures great and small. If it's bigger than a blue jay, Buddy is afraid of it, otherwise he wants to be best friends with it; so it is easy to imagine him actually asking why the hawk did what it did. I wish we had a picture of the confusion on his face when he stood over the bird.

As I'm writing this I can't help but to make a couple of comparisons. First of all, why did a seemingly healthy young hawk make such a grievous mistake? He was almost clear of the roof’s pitch when he slammed into the house! Hawks have superior eyesight and they can see very tiny animals on the ground from great heights with precision. It seems to go against the very nature of the bird to actually not see, or inadequately gauge the height of our house, which is not very tall by the way. It could be a deficiency in the bird itself, which I wondered about when the next day or so we encountered yet another young hawk that looked as if it had been hit by a car not very far from our house. (this is very unusual to see. Deer, squirrels and many other animals are hit regularly on these country roads unfortunately, but birds, especially the larger raptors are rarely hit.) Perhaps this bird was of the same clutch as the one at our house? If that’s so, then it would stand to reason that there may have been something genetically wrong with the birds, maybe bad eyesight. So encountering not one but two hawks that obviously died from injuries sustained from a mistake in judgement or deficiency in ability to see well, got me thinking about how human beings are destined for death. I know, it’s a pretty grim thought to ponder for long. But let’s take a little look at it anyway, since it is obviously a part of life as they say…

Romans 6:23

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Like the hawks and all living creatures on the earth, we are only one misstep, or heart attack away from death. The believer may get lucky enough to be raptured away before ever having to experience the death of the body (Isn’t that what we would all rather have happen?) But, this may not occur in our natural lifetime. And so we will suffer death just like all the saints who have gone before us. The hope that all believers do have however, is the promise that although our natural body is destined for the grave, we will not remain there as Jesus Christ long ago, upon His own death, first took a key and set all the righteous captives free from the grave. And after this was accomplished, he came back to the world of the living to establish and confirm His claim to be the Son of God who conquered this terrible fate called death for all who trust in Him. So although we may make a mistake, like the hawks did, our consequence could be bodily death, but our penalty for death has been paid, therefore we will live for all eternity!

Another comparison that I wanna point out here, is about how my dog, who is one half black and tan coon hound and the other half golden retriever seems to totally contradict his own nature..The coon hound is genetically conditioned to hunt for small animals and it is said that once found, they normally will kill the animal unless trained not to. The retriever on the other hand, bred to find fallen prey and of course, retrieve it will not generally be afraid of it.  Now I can’t help but think about how we as human beings, who by our very nature are tempted to sin, to make decisions that we know are wrong or against God, that once we are saved the Bible tells us we are given a new nature..we become a new creation in Christ. It is nothing short of a miracle that we are now, with the help of the Holy Spirit, able to resist the temptation to go against our old nature, to no longer be bound by our genetic makeup to be enslaved by the tendency to commit sin. We are in essence, given new wings to fly above the obstacle of sin that would otherwise result in our death, we can make mistakes, and although there may be unpleasant consequences, we will never again have to fear death because of sin. And we will, if we are focused upon the Lord, see with our spiritual eyes the route to fly around the obstacles that seem to be always in our path.

but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles..(Isaiah 40:31)

20 But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. 23But each one in his own order: Christ the first fruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming. 24 Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. 25 For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet. 26 The last enemy that will be destroyed is death. 27 For “He has put all things under His feet.”[a] But when He says “all things are put under Him,it is evident that He who put all things under Him is excepted. 28Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.

51 Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”[g]
55 “ O Death, where is your sting?[h]
O Hades, where is your victory?”[i]

(1 Cor. 15 NKJV)
To conclude I just want to say that I hope to someday meet you all in the rapture, but if not- then I pray for a good long life for each of us to enjoy while we continue to praise Jesus and learn more and more of Him!

Thanks for stopping by for a visit today!

The Living Dead / A repost- from many moons ago

We do not celebrate halloween. We do however, celebrate each new day because: "This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalm 118:24)

My husband , for some weird reason, has been hooked on zombie movies ever since the old (original) black & white version of 'Night of the Living Dead'.  I personally believe that if you've seen one, you've seen them all. Well, here's my version of a zombie story:

Have you noticed how many movies are made about zombies? We find the creatures ugly and repulsive, a contradiction in and of itself. (the walking dead or living dead) The thought of them conjures up images of ghastly creatures mindlessly walking around in ragged clothes stinking up the place, looking for someone to devour.(Gal.5:15) This is how we looked to God before we were changed into the image of His Son. Isaiah 64:6 says it like this: But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags..
We may think that our good deeds make us beautiful and ,well [good]; but unless we are clothed with the righteousness of Christ, God sees us quite differently. for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.” (Galatians 3:27)). In this text, the word "clothed" is translated from [endunw-enduno], and properly means to envelop in, to hide in, and to put on something. The word “clothed” has been defined "to become so possessed of the mind of Christ as in thought, feeling, and action to resemble him and, as it were, reproduce the life he lived." –Joseph Henry Thayer
Jesus at one point tells one of the disciples to Let the dead bury the dead” (Mat.8:22)
Thankfully we were given a new identity, a new life when we accepted Jesus. We can now say “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Gal.2:20)
When we get dressed in the morning, we do not desire to dig through the hamper and pull out the dirty clothes that we wore days ago, but when we turn back to our 'old ways' from our old life before we knew the Lord, we are putting on the smelly old clothing of our [old man] who was dead and buried. Instead let us daily stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and not be entangled again with the yoke of bondage. (Gal.5:1)
  • What's your favorite movie? Why?
  • If the book of Revelation was made into a movie (a realistic one) do you think a lot of people would get saved after watching it?
  • Did you get saved after reading the book of Revelation in the Bible? (I did!)

The Promise Before The Rain

And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,
 And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;

And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth.

And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:

I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:

And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.

And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth. ( Genesis 9:8-17 KJV)

I had to pick our youngest daughter up from work this afternoon. On the way we were remarking on how beautiful the landscape was. The sky was a very deep gray, but the sun was shining on the trees igniting them in color, a beautiful contrast against the dark backdrop and like icing on a cake we saw a rainbow. It had not rained yet. My daughter said "Look it's God's Promise!"
(just like when she was little) I replied: "The promise without the rain!"
As we neared home it began to darken and rain. My daughter said "The promise before the rain! To which I replied: "Looks like I found my next blog post!"

So, what is the science behind the rainbow, and does it have to rain in order to see one?

Light and water create rainbows. However, to see a rainbow, it must be raining in one part of the sky, the sun shining from the opposite part, and you must have your back to the sun. Then raindrops, like tiny prisms, scatter the white sunlight into brilliant colors--red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet--and make a rainbow...

Our backs were to the sun as we traveled, so that would explain why we seen the bow before the rain.

If we think of Jesus as the white light of the Sun (Sonlight),
it is as though we are looking through this brilliant prism of the light of God's promises; trusting securely in the Lord, and not worrying about what we can not see ahead of us, the storms of life.
When we let God's light shine through us, we become like those raindrops reflecting His light, becoming beautiful like the Savior.
We can be a  bright token of God's love and promise of eternal life through His Son Jesus Christ.
Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world
 (Philipians 2:14-15)

 Oh Lord you're beautiful
Your face is all I see,
For when your eyes are on this child
your grace abounds to me.

I want to take your word and shine it all around.
But first help me to just live it Lord.
And when I'm doing well, help me to never seek a crown
For my reward is giving glory to you.

Oh Lord please light the fire
that once burned bright and clean
Replace the lamp of my first love
that burns with holy fear.

~Keith Green's 'Oh Lord Your Beautiful' Lyrics~

...The drops bend the light to scatter it. Light slows when it goes through water and this causes its path to bend.

This made me think of us Christians as the droplets, passing through the Sonlight, making the Light slowly work through us, bending our will into His.

...Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (Hebrews 13:21 KJV)

Did you know ?...
*The Bible begins with a rainbow and ends with a rainbow:

• In the Book of Genesis it says: The Rainbow of God's Promise shines across the world. Genesis 9:16
• In the Book of Revelation it says: The Emerald Rainbow shines around the Throne of God in heaven. A rainbow, resembling an emerald, encircled the throne. Revelation 4:3b (NIV)

The Church

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the
Spirit of God dwelleth in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16 )

Thus says the LORD: "Heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool; what is the house which you would build for me, and what is the place of my rest? All these things my hand has made, and so all these things are mine, says the LORD. But this is the man to whom I will look, he that is humble and contrite in spirit, and trembles at my word." (Isaiah 66:1)

"Am I a God at hand, says the LORD, and not a God afar off? Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? says the LORD. Do I not fill heaven and earth? says the LORD. (Jeremiah 23:23, 24)

Jesus is the head of the Church:

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: the things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. ( Colossians 15-18)

The Church is made up of the(body) of true believers in Jesus Christ:

"So we who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another."  (Romans 12:5)

"For the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ." (Eph. 4:12)

The Wind and Waves and... sand in my teeth!

Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.
(Ephesians 4:14 NIV)

“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.  The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.  But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand.  The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” (Mathew 7:24-27)

Over the weekend my husband and I took a drive along the western shoreline; we had no plan, just go wherever the wind blows us..The winds blew us all the way up to the Sleeping Bear Dunes along the coast of Lake Michigan. *As a  true Michigander will always do, I am now holding up my left hand and pointing to the pinkie so you know where this is located  in the state.*
With my husband being Chippewa, (his grandfather was the chief back in the 50's)
Aamjiwnaang First Nation (Chippewas of Sarnia)  He grew up hearing the legend of the Sleeping Bear Dunes...

Sleeping Bear dune, 1700's

Long ago a great famine had spread over the land. Longingly, a mother bear and two famished cubs walked the shore on the Wisconsin side, gazing wistfully across the great lake at Michigan, which in those days was the land of plenty (as it is today). Finally hunger overcame their timidness and the bears launched out, trying to swim to Michigan. As they got closer and closer to the Michigan shore, the mother's words of encouragement urged on the weary cubs. When only twelve miles from the land of plenty, the mother's heart was rent as she saw a babe sink and drown. With the remaining cub she struggled to gain the beach. Two miles of slow dragging and the second of her beloved cubs also perished.

The mother reached the beach, alone, and crept to a resting place where she lay down facing the restless waters that covered her lost ones. As she gazed, two beautiful islands slowly rose to mark the graves of the cubs. The Great Spirit Manitou created two islands (North and South Manitou Islands) to mark the spot where the cubs disappeared and then created a solitary dune to represent the faithful mother bear.
This picture of the Sleeping Bear dune, as it appeared years ago (actual date unknown), shows its striking resemblance to a sleeping bear. Today, the vegetation in the vicinity has changed markedly, and the resemblance is less obvious. In particular, trees now block the view from several angles.
Sleeping Bear Dunes
~voted as America's most beautiful place~
This bench is very strategically placed behind this tree. The constant wind literally stings your face with very course sand making it impossible to look out onto the water for very long!
(hence the reference to sand in my teeth)  Protective clothing is a must when visiting the dunes!

One night I had a dream--
I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord
and across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints,
one belonged to me and the other to the Lord.
When the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that many times along the path of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest
and saddest times in my life.
This really bothered me and I questioned the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you would walk with me all the way,
but I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life
there is only one set of footprints.
"I don't understand why in times when I needed you most,
you should leave me."
The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child,
I love you and I would never, never leave you
during your times of trial and suffering.
"When you saw only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."
