|This is the same tree featured in last week's blog post... |
What a difference a week makes!
Having some fun with the dogs and a giant oak...
Buddy takes a closer look..
I wonder what a coon-hound could possibly be looking for in a tree?
Sasha taking a little break, sits on the foot of the tree..
She likes to sit on everybody's feet.
(The same oak the dogs were at)
Nothing Gold Can Stay
Robert Frost (1923)
Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
I cried over beautiful things knowing no beautiful thing lasts.
Carl Sandburg Autumn Movement, (1918)
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
1 Corinthians 2:9
I can only imagine that someday in Heaven we
will look back and reflect upon this time of golden autumn as
dreary as the grayest day of November..In comparison.
