Around the yard today…

CIMG2825 (2) - Copy
The cherries will be abundant this year…Thanks to  the pruning done last year. They are usually too tart for us to enjoy, but the birds like them a lot. Cherries need a lot of sun in order to become sweet. We do not have a lot of sunshine in our yard,
but we do have a lot of Son-light in our home...
That’s why we are so sweet Winking smile

Can you see him?

This little frog has been hanging out at our bedroom window for a couple days now. He is keeping the bugs away from the flowers and singing me to sleep every night…I do not like (most) bugs, so he is very welcome to stay as long as he likes!
Speaking of bugs, we saw the first lightning bugs out flying around in the yard last night. We didn’t see many June bugs this year, and now June is over already!
Wow, where did the time go?

    1. I have not tried that, maybe there will be enough this year. And with enough sugar...who knows!

    1. Thank you Maria. We have wild grapes growing near the road, but I think our squirrels prefer the seeds and suet, much to Buddy's frustration!

  6. Hi Lisa- we have fireflies now : ) They're magical like little yellow twinkle lights in the backyard. The frog sounds delightful! I love it. Such a nice time of year.

    God bless!

    1. Hi Karen,
The fireflies do bring out the child in us don't they?

He is a cute little frog...I think I will give him a name if he hangs around much longer...We had a resident toad that hung out on our front porch for years, the kids named him Hoppy :)

  7. I agree, the summer is flying by. it's already July. You have lovely things to view outside your windows. I do, too. And it has done wonders for my state of mind, seeing God's creation in al it's beauty and uniqueness. I haven't seen any frogs though. But quite a few lizards. Have a wonderful rest of the summer, Lisa.

    1. Hi Peggy,
Yes, it is difficult to remain depressed for long when we look at all the Lord has blessed us with right outside our windows! God is a good Father to his children!
We haven't seen any salamanders yet, but then we haven't been looking for them either, LOL!

  8. I wish I had a froggy visitor at my window. On occasion we have tiny one's who climb our patio window. I saw some lightening bugs recently but not as many as last year. I have not seen any June bugs. We have plenty of spiders. Your house is really cute. :)

  9. Hi Dee,

We have ALOT of spiders...BIG ones!

I am not a fan of spiders even though they eat bugs too. I would rather have a cute little frog or two to eat up them bugs ;) (and yes, we have them climbing the screens too).
Thanks for the compliment...It is small, but we like it :) although the yard can sometimes be too much with so many huge trees. Maybe we will cut a few more down for sunlight and safety purposes someday. It can get kinda scarey during wind storms and lightning!
~Have a wonderful Fourth, Blessings and love, Lisa
