Scenes from the forest

Look who I’m following! (at a distance)…

And look who’s following me…Can you see him?
DSC01816

Every beast, every creeping thing, and every fowl, and whatsoever creeps upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth from the ark.
And Noah built an altar unto the Lord, and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the alter.
And the Lord smelled a sweet savor; and the Lord said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every living thing, as I have done.
Genesis 8:19-21
Happy Earth Day!

Love the pictures Lisa. I hunted with my Dad most of my life and that first picture really reminded me of some of the places I've been in California. They are beautiful pics! You do live in a wonderful place absolutely full of the beauty of the Lord!
I pray you have a great day...Chelle

Hi Chelle,

I've never been to Northern Calif. but I have seen some gorgeous pictures. My Mom and Grandma went before I was born, and had lots of good memories to share. It sounds exciting to go hunting with your dad...Hope he is doing better.
~God bless you, my friend~ Lisa

Hi Lisa,
beautiful pictures. I am trying to figure out what the creatures are in the last two pics, but I have not succeeded yet. What are they? Happy earth day to you, and God bless you.

Hi Brenda,
Oh i am sorry...i forgot to say what they are...They are porcupines! I was following the first one to get a pic when my husband called out to be careful there was another one right behind me! Some people think they throw their quills when threatened, but they actually must come in contact with something in order to stick the quills in. I was kinda scared I might not have seen him and walked into his quills...I had a dog years ago who kept getting the things stuck in her nose and even on her tongue! They work like fish hooks and burrow deep into the skin.

I can not physically walk through the woods and love being taken on photo walks through them. So much to see...the glory of the Lord is shown in all of nature.\0/

Lisa, you must have such fun living in the forest surrounded by nature. I know I've been in a perpetual state of praise since we've moved to the sheep farm because everywhere I look I am in awe of what God has created. it's been so good for my soul. Happy Earth Day and Happy Spring!

I always love your nature photos, and the scripture you chose at the end goes well with the photographs.

Blessings!

Hi Sweetie,

I wonder how many times we hiked past that tree fungus while it was hidden by snow. The hiking has been helping my husband with his RA, and keeps me moving too...My goal is to someday be able to run again like you do...Prayer makes it possible!
~God bless~

Hi Dee,

I started hiking a few years ago and there was a time when my Osteoarthritis and disk problems were so severe I could not do it. My husband also has severe Rhematoid arthritis, and could barely move about 3 years ago. slowly with therapy I have been able to get back into hiking, but must be very careful (that's why I always carry a stick.) My husband has been on medicine for his RA that allows him to hike as well (again with care).
As long as the Lord keeps allowing us to do this, I will continue to take pictures along our hikes so that others can enjoy them too!
~God bless~

Hi Gina,
Yes, underneath all those spikes they are super cute! I even saw a you tube video where a couple had a pet porcupine that came into the house and sat up tpo beg for food just like a dog. They wore gloves and gave him belly rubs :) ~God bless~

Hi Peggy,
Your sheep are so sweet! Yes, God's creation is amazing. I like man-made structures, ships, bridges, and such too, but they just cannot compare to what God has done!
~God bless~ Lisa

Hi Denise,
I think God is awesome, and his creation (all of it) is beautiful! ~God bless~

Hi Ken,
I actually prepared this post before I knew it was earth day..That verse was a perfect one to comemorate it...I actually didn't plan to publish this until the next day! God is so good!

Hi Mara,

God always seems to show me what scripture is best for whatever photos I randomly shoot...it is fun, I am always so surprised each time! I consider it playing a fun game with our Heavenly Father...something I missed out on with my earthly father.
~God bless~

Hi Jedidja,

Those porcupines were pretty big. They moved very slowly, but the one behind me seemed to be coming at me steadily!
