The Invitation

I remember one time when I was a teenager, I received an invitation to a neighborhood girl's 'Mary Kay' party. I was new to the neighborhood as I had just moved in with my sister. It was a nice neighborhood with beautiful homes. I had come from a broken home in a rural trailer park to live with my sister and her husband and two young children.

I was thrilled to be invited to this party, as the girl was very popular and only her friends were invited, I thought she considered me a friend also...Well, back then I was going through one of the most difficult times in my life and it really showed..on my face, in the form of zits..lots of them!
I walked to the girl's home and felt the goosebumps rising as I was ushered into the foyer..this home was truly magnificent, beautifully decorated and huge! I made my way into the formal dining room and sat down at the large table laden with various bottles and trays, bowls and sponges, all the elements necessary to turn a awkward teen into a beautiful supermodel!
The  Mary Kay representative showed us the method for closing facial pores, and spoke about the different foundations available for every skin type..great I was learning something new; but just when I thought I had arrived to a party in Heaven itself, the representative singled me out...She asked if there was some stress in my life causing my face to break out so badly? What could I say, I was surrounded in that beautiful home by other teen aged girls who lived in similar homes, who had moms and dads and healthy families...I certainly was not going to pour out my sad story, it really was none of their business anyway, I was not there to talk about my problems..I just wanted to make new friends  and maybe buy some make up for goodness sakes!
Then she stepped closer and pointed out the fact that I had blackheads and large pores..oh dear, I felt my face turning red as sweat began to drench my entire body;

I can still remember the torment of taking that 'walk of shame' back to my sister's house...replaying the whole scene  in my mind of the other girls leaning in closer to one another and behind veiled hands, trying to hide their snickers. To this day I will never understand how any adult could be so callous to a child. I had already been through so much in my young life. She had no idea.

I am happy to report that my complextion has cleared, although I still use 'Mary Kay' products (for wrinkles now); and as an adult I have recieved many invitations to parties and other events,  however, even though I may still get those familiar goosebumps of excitement there is still that shadow looming. What if when I get there, I say or do something stupid? What if...
There is one invitation that I received twenty seven years ago. This invitation had my name lovingly written on it, it also had a couple of other names written there, pretty high profile names too! This invitation was to the most exquisite mansion, in the very best neighborhood ever! This invitation promised a feast and the finest wine and music, and with a massive choir singing throughout. Best of all, this invitation was for a party that never ends! The invitation is a standing invitation, sent by the Creator Himself, given in  honor of His Son Jesus Christ, (told you they were high profile names) It was sealed with His royal stamp. When I opened it, I immediately RSVP'd. Here is what it read:

Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb  is come, and his wife [ the Body of Christ] hath made herself ready.
And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.   And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God. (Rev.19:7-9)

"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.

"All that the Father gives Me shall come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out."

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

"In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you." (John 14:2)

"I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." (John 14:2,3)

I hope to see you there on that day!
~God Bless~

A Complete System Re-Boot

Starting over. Have you ever had to start something from scratch?  Let me share a little bit about my techno-drama. (yep, I just invented a new word) Last January/february I was forced to reboot my entire computer system from scratch. After investing in a couple different anti-virus programs and lotsa trial and error (mostly error), things still weren't working properly. By the way, I am a cheap-skate thrifty person, and the thought of spending *Gasp* money on a new computer gave me night sweats...(although that might have just been the perimenopause), anyways...After trying everything I knew to do including about a hundred different updates (data eaters).
So I finally decided to get a new laptop...We bought one for our daughter a few years ago, but I have never owned one for myself. What made me finally decide to shell out the bucks?...Well, I am sitting out here in a public parking lot posting to this and I don't have to pay for the data I'm using!  This free wi-fi stuff is a cheapskate's paradise...the stuff dreams are made of LOL!...Don't worry, I would never resort to sitting in anyone's driveway on the off chance they have an open broadcast or anything...That is stealing. But I might be found in a public parking lot a lot from now on...This should help draw me out of my agoraphobic tendency to hide away at home. Good therapy perhaps?
So, I have been forced to start over. since a major virus corrupted all of my document files on the desk top PC, and a human error caused me to lose most of my photos and other images...I am needing to depend quite heavily on snatching copy- write- free images from the internet; a good site for this is:
http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=free+christian+images&qpvt=free+christian+images&FORM=IGRE

So I am wondering, who agrees with me that it sure would be nice to have a boot disc to restart our lives from scratch once we have become so corrupted by our sins and unhealthy, unholy living? Is there a program out there that can erase all that corruption from our hard heart drives? Good news...There is!

                        *The perfect program*

Easy installation instructions:

1. Heavenly Father, I confess that I am a sinner. I   am sorry and I want to be forgiven for my sins.

2. I believe Jesus died on the cross to pay for my sins.

3. I believe Jesus rose from death on the third day proving that He is truly your Son!

5. I'm asking for Jesus to live within my heart so that the Holy spirit can work through me, teaching me of you and giving me power to become more like Jesus.
~Amen~
* If you need further 'tech' support, please read the manual that came with this program..(.The Holy Bible) and please feel free to contact this blog author or any other confessing Christian you may trust*

If you are already a christian let me ask you this: has your walk with the lord gotten a little slow and laggy lately?..Do you find more and more distractions popping up diverting your attention away from your prayer and or Bible study time?  Does it take you forever to open the Bible, and once opened does it quickly close again? Trust me, it's not God who's shutting you down. Maybe you have downloaded something that you shouldn't have, maybe it was hiding within another program that you thought was OK to download.  Feeling a little scatter brained? Maybe you just need to run a scan to defrag all those scattered thoughts that have accumulated inside your brain.
The Holy Spirit is the best program we have for detecting malicious threats from the enemy, as well as helping us to interpret the Word of God. We are given power through the Holy Spirit to use our God given gifts to accomplish the Lord's will for our lives. We have a network of fellow believers in whom we all fitted together, are the hands and feet of Jesus here on earth.  Jesus is our source code, our redeemer and in every aspect He is our life!
Most computer programs require an update from time to time...Our relationship with the Lord also requires an update...God is not the one however who needs that update, as He is the same yesterday, today and forever (the Alpha and the Omega), It is we who need to renew our minds daily.

Pathways and Train Tracks

Sometimes the things we allow to take up space in our brains are not only non-conducive to following God’s will for our lives, but they can be downright contrary to that will, and even lead us in a different direction.

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; (2 Corinthians 10:5)

I realized recently that I had a certain choice set before me.  I could either wile away the hours reading a fictional story on the Internet, or use that time to research and study the scriptures in order to create a post that might glorify the Lord and maybe even be of help to someone.  I have to admit, my flesh wanted to read that story instead.  Sure, I could have read the story and then do a quick search and study about a topic from the Bible, but I know that God would not be honored by being put in second place, and therefore, although His word never returns void, I would lose the fullness of His blessing.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. (Isaiah 26:3)

The mind is a wonderful thing, but it is very complex. Our thoughts have the ability to form and change our brains. We develop thought patterns, these thought patterns act like pathways. After awhile these pathways can become more like train tracks. The difference between a pathway and a train track is the freedom to change our direction at will.

Now imagine you are walking on a path alongside a train track talking with the Lord. You are enjoying the walk and feel exhilarated at the freedom you have to follow beside the Lord wherever He may lead. You are not worried about where you are going or at what pace you are walking.  Now suddenly a fast train blazes by and you find you are no longer walking the path beside the tracks, but you are a passenger on the train. The trees and the peaceful path are zooming by as you watch out the window. You have no idea where you are headed and panic grips you as you realize you are powerless to change this course.

What happened is that while you were walking with the Lord, the loud train that blazed past you distracted you. Sometimes thoughts (or circumstances) are like that train.

Think about this; God gave us free will. Although the devil will try to use our free will to his own advantage, he hates the fact that we can use that same free will to choose to follow the Lord instead of him.  We need to know that the enemy will try to manipulate and bind that will wherever he can, this usually begins with our thought life.  If we entertain certain thoughts within our brain long enough, the pathways that these thoughts lead us down will become deeper and deeper until they resemble deep tracks or even ruts that no matter how hard we turn the wheel to try to get our tires out of them, it only results in digging us deeper. Before you know it, you are stuck. You can neither move forward nor change direction. It will take direct intervention from God in order to set us back to where we ought to be. Just like the train is bound by the constraints of the track, the ruts formed from thoughts that do not glorify God can bind us along a path that we do not want to follow.  Sometimes this kind of thinking is quite subtle, unlike the distraction of a loud train, these thoughts tend to sneak up on us while we are not paying attention or staying fully focused on the Lord in the first place. The ruts are sometimes created by other people too. We have a choice to follow the way of the world, or the voice of the Way, the Truth, and the Life. AKA Jesus

Your trail map:

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
 (Proverbs 3:6)

In case you still find yourself lost in the dark:

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. (Psalm 119:105)

Dear Jesus,
Help us to remain focused on you Lord, help us to not be so distracted by the wrong 'train of thought',  so that we may not lose the joy and peace of your fellowship with us as we walk with you along the pathways of life.
In thy name~ Amen~

Choose Your Path

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. (Psalm 16:11)

When we are young we find ourselves at many crossroads. When we are older, we find ourselves at fewer crossroads, but now we are able to look back on our journey and know which paths led us astray and which paths led us towards our goals. The problem with doing this however is that it is too late once you have walked the wrong path, you can not go back and choose differently, you can not live your life over again now that you know the right way!
You must decide to start a brand new journey from right where you are now.
This time do not embark on this journey alone..That didn't work before did it?

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
(John 14:6)

Jesus knows the way you must go, but it is not an easy path. You will need to follow Him very closely.

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
(Matthew 7:14) .. words of Jesus Christ

Jesus will lead the way...

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green  pastures:

he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul:

he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:

thou anointest  my head with oil;

 my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life:

and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

(Psalm 23)

Luke 9:62. But Jesus said to him, "No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."

Lot's wife looking back
James E. McConnel
(1903-1995)

Whenever God tells us not to look back, we should trust that He means it!

... but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
( Philippians 3:13 )

Keep moving forward, don't let anything block your way...Listen to your shephard when he warns you of a stumbling block on the path ahead. Don't stop to listen to any other voice telling you to stop or turn around.
Sometimes the stumbling blocks become our stepping stones.

So if the Devil is whispering into your ear telling you how unworthy you are to follow this new path,  perhaps reminding you of a past sin, ..just tell him what Jesus told him:

Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. (Matthew 16:23)

When you do this you will be leaving the devil behind you; Jesus will lead you on the right path. Don't look behind you. The cares of this world will only cast a shadow upon your path with Christ... Don't worry, a shadow can not hurt you
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” (Psalms 27:1)
unless you turn away from the light of Jesus and try to walk alone through the darkness.

 It's your choice...

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
(John 3:18)

“I am the light of the world; he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

Happy New Year..The Ark awaits!

And He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it. 23“They will say to you, ‘Look there! Look here!’ Do not go away, and do not run after them. 24“For just like the lightning, when it flashes out of one part of the sky, shines to the other part of the sky, so will the Son of Man be in His day. 25“But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. 26“And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28“It was the same as happened in the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building; 29but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30“It will be just the same on the day that the Son of Man is revealed. (Luke 17:22-30)

God shut the door.

So those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in as God had commanded him; and the Lord shut him in. (Gen.7:16)

Jesus said I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved (John 10:9).

During this New Year's celebration and beyond, people will be doing what people do, they will be getting together with family and friends, eating and drinking and having a good time. There may be a marriage proposal or two, babies will be born, people will die.
People all over this world will be counting down the last few seconds of the year 2011. Most of us will anticipate a future full of hope and promise as we welcome in 2012.  My hope for the new year is that we will see all of God's promises fulfilled in our lives as we journey into a new day...as we declare Come Lord Jesus...My hope is that all my loved ones will find themselves placed safely in the arms of Jesus, or grasped tightly in his strong hand if they find themselves in over their heads.  I hope for smooth sailing, but I know that storms will come. I know that Jesus will either calm those storms or calm His children as He comforts us within the midst of the storm. He will never leave us alone to battle it out if we stay within the safety of His ark.

It is not too late. There is still time. The storm is coming, it is on the horizon right now. Do not wait until the storm is in full swing, when it will be very difficult to enter into the Kingdom of God. There is a chance that you will not make it through the coming storm. All will be lost, your soul will be lost forever, without Jesus~without hope.

There is a day coming, and it will come upon you very suddenly, when you will look up and see the Son of God coming from Heaven with his saints.

And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (Matthew 24:30)

The dead in Christ and the *raptured saints*  will be with Jesus when He returns to earth... And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven...Those who are gathered at this time will be called the great tribulation saints, the ones who overcame the tyranny of the Beast during a time of unprecedented terror and horror upon the earth; a time of unspeakable evil and violence like this world has never seen before. These tribulation saints are those who refused to take the mark of the beast, and as a result they lost loved ones, homes, jobs and all of their property, and many if not all of their possessions. They were hunted down like fugitives, hidden from sight from those who would torture and kill them, they would be declared as enemies of the government, dangerous right-wing fundamentalist Christians, and regarded as a dangerous terrorist threat because they refused to obey the new world order government and deny their new faith in the Lord Jesus and convert to a new one world religion. They refuse to live in opposition to the Word of God written in the Holy Bible.

There will also be other angels who will gather together all those who did not regard the God who created them, who did not care about the Son of God or His sacrifice for them. These were scoffers who ridiculed the Lord who paid for their ugly sins with His blood shed for them on the cross. These are they who upon hearing the Word of God telling them that He loved them so much  that He gave His own Son Jesus (The Christ) to first teach and show them how they must live, and then finally to suffer and die in their place, to pay with His own blood the penalty for the sin of all mankind. They laughed or completely ignored and rejected the free gift of salvation; thinking it ridiculous or un-scientific, illogical, or just not necessary as they believed they were good enough on their own, by their own good works to earn their place in Heaven. There will be many who will deny their faith in Jesus so they can recieve the mark of the beast in order to recieve provision for their lives here on earth. ..That life will only be for another 3.5 to 7 years, depending upon when during the great tribulation the mark was established to replace all modes of currency, shorter if they succumb to any one of the judgements that will be poured out upon the earth...read The Book of Revelation for descriptions of these)...
So in essence, these people will be trading in their eternal life with their Creator in a New Heaven and New Earth, for a few miserable years upon this fractured and dying earth which will be thrown into a lake of fire that will burn and torment forever. Even Satan, the beast that you depended on for everything can not save you now, as he will suffer the same judgement....

10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20)

The New Ark Awaits

The first ark was built out of wood by man following explicit instructions from God. The New Ark is built upon a foundation of solid rock;

1 Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, 2 as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, 3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.  (1 Peter 2)

The Chosen Stone and His Chosen People
4 Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, 5 you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. 6 Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture,

“ Behold, I lay in Zion
A chief cornerstone, elect, precious,
And he who believes on Him will by no means be put to shame.”[b]

7 Therefore, to you who believe, He is precious; but to those who are disobedient,[c]

“ The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone,”[d]
8 and

“ A stone of stumbling
And a rock of offense.”[e]

They stumble, being disobedient to the word, to which they also were appointed.

Built to withstand the fires of Hell itself, this ark is given to man from God the Father in the form of Jesus His only begotten Son. This ark does not  only ask that you enter into it, He asks to enter into you, to give you a new and eternal life, to change you into a new creation, a new being...

2 Corinthians 5:17

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

You will be called Sons and Daughters of God, grafted into the Royal family of God to live forever in a new Heaven and Earth.

9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy. (1Peter 2:9)
5Having predestined us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
6To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
7In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; (Ephesians 1)

When you enter into your eternal home you will receive a new body. There will be no more sorrow and weeping, no more sickness and pain...

The Resurrection Body  (1 Corinthians 15:35-44)

35 But someone may ask, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?”
36 How foolish! What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. 37 When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else. 38 But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body. 39 All flesh is not the same: Men have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another and fish another. 40 There are also heavenly bodies and there are earthly bodies; but the splendor of the heavenly bodies is one kind, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is another. 41 The sun has one kind of splendor, the moon another and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor.

42So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body

A New Heaven and Earth  (Revelation 21)
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

The Door is opened wide..Please come in.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever BELIEVETH in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." -John 3:16

God made the plan of salvation so simple that a child can understand it. We are expected to present this salvation to others as God gave it to us, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved" (acts 16:31).
"But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the SIMPLICITY that is in Christ." (2 Cor 11:3)
But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. (1Peter 4)
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. (Luke 21:8)

*For more information about the pre-tribulation rapture of the Church please study:

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)

In Luke 12:36, the Word states that when Christ returns, He will be returning from a wedding. In Revelation 19:7-8, we read about the marriage itself. The marriage supper takes place before the marriage. According to Jewish custom, the marriage contract, which often includes a dowry, is drawn up first. The contract parallels the act of faith we use when we trust Jesus to be our Savior. The dowry is His life, which was used to purchase us. When it's time for the wedding, the groom goes to the bride's house unannounced. She comes out to meet him, and then he takes her to his father's house. This precisely correlates with the events according to the pre-trib scenario. Jesus, the Groom, comes down from heaven and calls up the Church, His Bride. After meeting in the air, He and His Bride return to His Father's house, heaven. The marriage supper itself will take place there, while down here on earth the final events of the tribulation will be playing out. After the marriage supper of Jewish tradition, the bride and groom are presented to the world as man and wife. This corresponds to the time when Jesus returns to earth accompanied by an army "clothed in fine linen, white and clean" (Rev 19:14).

I'm Thankful For You

We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other,
2Thessalonians 1:3

But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning chose you for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth,  2Thessalonians 2:13

I thank my God always concerning you for the grace of God which was given to you by Christ Jesus 1Corinthians 1:4

That my soul may sing praise to You and not be silent.
O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever.

Psalm 30:12

Variety surely is the spice of life...There are so many different blogs that I really enjoy reading. I follow some, others I only visit occasionally; some I have book marked, but not necessarily signed on with. Larger ones I tend to avoid joining but will sometimes leave a comment. Smaller blogs that I enjoy I will usually join as I know how reassuring it is to encourage new bloggers as I was so encouraged when I first began.

I have learned much about blogging. I have made a few mistakes along the way too.  Because I admire so many different bloggers I have sometimes tried to emulate their style of writing. (mistake) Some are gifted as knowledgeable and credible prophecy teachers, and end time teachers. These people are usually rather firm in their writing styles and have a superior understanding about the subject of  the end times. They are the ones who hold firmly to the solid truths of the Bible and are committed to proclaim and defend with boldness the Bible warnings contained in Holy Scripture. I am fascinated by the few whom I find credible, and spend many an hour reading their (usually) daily posts. Although I can understand much of what they are saying, I have a hard time retaining factual information about world wide, usually political, geological, or scientific information that ties the scriptural references to the actual occurrences that are happening all over the world at a very rapid rate lately. Therefore, I am not a Bible prophecy teacher or blogger, and rarely will I even broach the subject on my blog.

Then there are the blogs that I sometimes hesitantly visit, I go to them much as a person might go to the doctor’s or chiropractor’s office when they know they need some medicine or an adjustment in order to get back on track; you know the ones, they tell it like it is, and are not afraid to make a stand for what’s right, even at the risk of offending someone, anyone. I tried that once, and although I felt it was important to do so, I did not enjoy it one bit and hope the Lord never asks me to do it again.

Then there are the blogs that I seem to gravitate to when I am having a bout with melancholy and just need a good laugh, I wish I could always write in that style, make people laugh a lot; we all seem to need that these days..these last days.

Although I am never quite comfortable sharing personal struggles with serious issues like abuse or neglect and rejection, I have a  certain empathy with others who are using their blogs as a way to reach out for comfort and understanding amidst their pain, these are special to me.  I write many personal thoughts in private journals in which I hope someday my loved ones will read to better understand why I am the way I am; until then however, I do have regular heart to heart talks with them.

Then there are the Bible scholars, these are the people who are or are not ordained or otherwise formally educated in seminary or other (Christian education). I have never spent more than a few hours in a secular college and have very few accreditations to my name, and those being completely too unimpressive to even mention. I used to be intimidated by well educated people, but as I grow older that has diminished thank the Lord.
As for those who, like me have no formal education concerning the Bible, I believe we are all on equal ground as far as we have the same teacher(Holy Spirit),and access to the same textbook (the Bible); therefore,  formal education or not, a Christian is only limited by their own desire to learn the scriptures. Of course I do take into consideration that the Lord blesses each with their own measure of faith and abilities or gifts

Some bloggers are talented photographers and have the most exquisite pictures on their blogs and some share their artwork or promote their handcrafts or other products. Although I am usually never in the market to peruse through blog-land to buy anything, I sure do enjoy the many different personalities behind the many blogs. Some I feel I can call ‘friend’ (that is a lot coming from me, as I tend to hold most  people at arms length for a long time or forever even). I guess perhaps Jesus is teaching me to hold people within my embrace instead, I don’t know, but I seem to be more tender- hearted since venturing into the blogasphere zone. What wonderful, fascinating times we are living in!

I don’t know why I am writing on this subject, perhaps it is my way of saying “Thank you” to all of you who take the time to share your lives, your knowledge, and faith, your talents with me. I sure do enjoy you all. You inspire and entertain me and I just want to say a heart felt “God Bless You!”

The Promise Before The Rain

And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,
 And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;

And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth.

And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.

And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:

I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:

And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.

And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth. ( Genesis 9:8-17 KJV)

I had to pick our youngest daughter up from work this afternoon. On the way we were remarking on how beautiful the landscape was. The sky was a very deep gray, but the sun was shining on the trees igniting them in color, a beautiful contrast against the dark backdrop and like icing on a cake we saw a rainbow. It had not rained yet. My daughter said "Look it's God's Promise!"
(just like when she was little) I replied: "The promise without the rain!"
As we neared home it began to darken and rain. My daughter said "The promise before the rain! To which I replied: "Looks like I found my next blog post!"

So, what is the science behind the rainbow, and does it have to rain in order to see one?

Light and water create rainbows. However, to see a rainbow, it must be raining in one part of the sky, the sun shining from the opposite part, and you must have your back to the sun. Then raindrops, like tiny prisms, scatter the white sunlight into brilliant colors--red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet--and make a rainbow...

Our backs were to the sun as we traveled, so that would explain why we seen the bow before the rain.

If we think of Jesus as the white light of the Sun (Sonlight),
it is as though we are looking through this brilliant prism of the light of God's promises; trusting securely in the Lord, and not worrying about what we can not see ahead of us, the storms of life.
When we let God's light shine through us, we become like those raindrops reflecting His light, becoming beautiful like the Savior.
We can be a  bright token of God's love and promise of eternal life through His Son Jesus Christ.
Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world
 (Philipians 2:14-15)

 Oh Lord you're beautiful
Your face is all I see,
For when your eyes are on this child
your grace abounds to me.

I want to take your word and shine it all around.
But first help me to just live it Lord.
And when I'm doing well, help me to never seek a crown
For my reward is giving glory to you.

Oh Lord please light the fire
that once burned bright and clean
Replace the lamp of my first love
that burns with holy fear.

~Keith Green's 'Oh Lord Your Beautiful' Lyrics~

...The drops bend the light to scatter it. Light slows when it goes through water and this causes its path to bend.

This made me think of us Christians as the droplets, passing through the Sonlight, making the Light slowly work through us, bending our will into His.

...Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (Hebrews 13:21 KJV)

Did you know ?...
*The Bible begins with a rainbow and ends with a rainbow:

• In the Book of Genesis it says: The Rainbow of God's Promise shines across the world. Genesis 9:16
• In the Book of Revelation it says: The Emerald Rainbow shines around the Throne of God in heaven. A rainbow, resembling an emerald, encircled the throne. Revelation 4:3b (NIV)
